Good evening, It is with much heartache and disappointment that I announce to you that we will NOT be able to move into our new high school building as anticipated for Tuesday, November 28th.

Unfortunately, this weekend we had MAJOR and DISASTROUS issues with our well system. Our discharge pipeline from the 8,000 gallon water tank to our distribution line to the building has failed TWICE since Friday. We’ve worked around the clock this weekend to complete emergency repairs with general contractors, well contractors, admin/maintenance and our board trying to repair and fix the issue but have not been successful.  Given it was a holiday weekend, we also had to work with limited resources.

This catastrophic event has been out of our control but we will continue working non-stop to ensure the problem is resolved. It was only 15 minutes after I sent today’s Sunday message that I learned the fix had failed. I apologize for being hopeful this morning but upon leaving campus last night, things were in place and working efficiently.

After much deliberation and discussion, we’ve decided that as a school that the best decision moving forward for our students will be to move back to Integrity and finish out this semester. There are too many unknown and unresolved issues given this situation that we do not feel safe or secure bringing in staff or students at this time.

Please know that this decision was not taken lightly and we too share your disappointment with not being able to start school there this week.

Tomorrow will still be a Teacher Workday and students will return on Tuesday for both campuses.

Bus Routes and Shuttles will continue to run as they have been until we are officially in the new building.

As always, thanks for all that you do,

Mrs. Vereyken
