Heather Vereyken, Administration, Director/Principal

I am beyond blessed with a wonderful husband of 6 years and 1 beautiful daughter who is 14 months old. I enjoy spending time traveling with my family along with my parents, siblings, their spouses and my nieces and nephews.

I got into teaching for the love of learning! I have always enjoyed working with students and staff. I love giving them the tools they need to help them grow and succeed and become better educators. Mentoring is a pivotal piece of being a good leader. Spending time with my staff and students is my absolute favorite part of my job. We set goals and work on ways to achieve those goals. Clover Garden has made great strides and progress over the years and I intend to keep that trend going. Challenging our students and faculty to be the BEST version of themselves is my priority!

I have been in education for 10 years. I graduated from Greensboro College in 2009 with a Bachelor's of Arts degree in Elementary Education. I graduated from Liberty University in 2017 with my Master's degree in Administration and Supervision. I began my teaching career at Clover Garden in 2009 and haven't left since! I fell in love with Clover Garden and have made it my "home away from home". In 2014-2015, I received the "Teacher of the Year Award" from Clover Garden.

In my free time, I enjoy going to the beach with my family and friends. My favorite television channel is the Hallmark Channel. I love watching new Hallmark movies...even if I can probably guess how it's going to end! I also enjoy playing sports and various games with my family.

"There is more to life than being a passenger," -Amelia Earhart. This quote inspires me because you can't spend your life just "going with the flow", you must work to "stand out" in order to "make a difference". You have to "think outside the box". This doesn't happen by being complacent! There is always room to grow, room for improvement, and room for needed changes! Reward only comes with hard work! #CGSISBETTERTHANBEST
