Daisy Whited (Valladares Ulate) was born in Guatemala on January 12th. She was raised in Costa Rica. She went to the National University of Costa Rica and got a college degree in Bachelor of Arts in International Relations. She has a certificate from Alamance Community College (ACC) as an interpreter and translator. She has also translated into two books into Spanish for children: The Tooth Fairy In Disguise (el hada de los dientes disfrazada) and Finding Smiles in a world where people wear masks (encontrando sonrisas en un mundo donde la gente usa mascarillas). She also worked as interpreter and translator in the medical field. She has been living in the US since 1996 and became a US citizen. She has two grown up sons. She’s been teaching Spanish for seven years. She’s very excited about the position of teaching about the language and culture that she loves at Clover Garden School this school year. Go Grizzlies!
