Feedback Form FAQ 22-23

“Feedback Form” Submissions from week of 9/18:

I’m having trouble understanding why in so many classes, students must submit something in Canvas in order to complete assignments done by hand in class and at home. It seems a tedious and irrelevant extra step, especially when these are not online classes. Is this going to be a forever practice?

  • Thank you for your feedback! This step was put into place to help audit our classes. There is an “extra step” that helps us when validating that grades in Power School are indeed accurate. We don’t know that this will be a “forever practice” but one that we have been using since Covid that helps eliminate “missing” assignments, grades, etc. that would make our calculations incorrect when comparing the gradebook in Canvas to the gradebook in PowerSchool. We know that it seems redundant but it’s been working well to help keep our gradebooks in alignment.

When will you all spray the playground for bugs and weeds. From my understanding there are a lot of fire ant hills.

  • Thank you for making us aware of these concerns. We will share this concern with our maintenance department to revisit and touch base again with our pest control vendor.

If Ms. Jessica Taylor will be teaching 7-8th grade Social Studies, who will be teaching the 6th grade Social Studies?

  • She is teaching 6th-8th grade social studies and one of our middle school leadership classes.

**Last week, one of your questions was regarding our 23-24 Academic Calendar. There has been a slight delay on posting that due to some additional corrections that were needed. We will share and post asap once those corrections are made. Thank you for your patience!

If you missed something or just need clarity on an event, etc. please fill out the form found here: https://forms.gle/L7oKFaRZUuiuh8JH7 This form will be monitored weekly and answers to frequently asked questions will be provided in the weekly Sunday message.

It was so sweet and thoughtful!

Drop off Procedures in the morning

REMINDER: Please do NOT drop your student off prior to 7:30 A.M. Even if it’s just a few minutes early. Dropping your student off on the porch and driving away is not allowed and is dangerous! Our staff are not available to supervise our students until 7:30 A.M. If your student is dropped off early, they will be required to attend before school and you’ll acquire a fee for before school care.

Your student must be dropped off and in their classrooms by 8:00 A.M. In the past, we’ve given a “cushion” of 5 minutes but we are losing valuable instructional minutes 1st period when we do this. Please leave your home early enough and safely enough to ensure your student is on time for school and inside their classroom when our 8:00 A.M. bell rings. Thank you for making your child’s education a TOP priority! You will be asked to sign in if your student is not on campus in enough time to make it to their classroom by 8:00 A.M. A copy of our tardy policy can be found in our Student/Parent Handbook on pages 13 & 14 if you’d like to reference it.

Thank you to all of you that travel on our campus safely, drive 5 mph or less, and don’t pass in our car rider lines! We greatly appreciate you and your dedication to the safety of our staff and students on campus!

PTT News:
