We hope that everyone had a fantastic 1st week of school! Last week, our students jumped into action and got started learning right away. The second day of school was definitely memorable for our students as our school lost power for about an hour and 1/2 on Tuesday morning. This was also the experience one group of our brand new to school Kindergarten students experienced. I’m so very proud of our resilient Grizzlies who kept working and learning during this challenging moment and for our teachers who didn’t let a little power outage slow them down in the slightest! Go Grizzlies!

We have 4 full weeks before our first Academic Break! Start the year off strong by practicing good study habits now that will follow you throughout the school year.

Where can I find the Scrip order form on the website?

The PTT is working on updating the school’s website and will be continuing SCRIP for our families quarterly. The first PTT meeting is on Aug. 22nd @ 6:00 P.M. in the café if you’d like to join us and learn more about our PTT! Thank you to all of you that signed up for a committee! We will be using you this school year! If you have any questions regarding PTT, please feel free to email the PTT at cgsptt@cgsnc.org.

If you missed something or just need clarity on an event, etc. please fill out this Google form. This form will be monitored weekly and answers to frequently asked questions will be provided in the weekly Sunday message.

Buses

Parents of Bus Students,

This year we are doing the “Student Bus Information Form” online. If you have not already completed this form, please click on the link below. We need this form completed by Friday August 5th. If you have any questions, please email Mrs. Simpson at margaretsimpson@cgsnc.org.

Handbook Updates:

There was some clarity needed on wearing “leggings” to school. **(Leggings MUST have an appropriate dress/clothing worn over top of the leggings that meet the mid-thigh length requirement)
**Dress Code Violations will have consequences beginning this week. Please dress appropriately for school.

Fire Drill

This week, we will have our 1st Fire Drill! Please prep your student for this drill and that it’s only practice to keep all of us safe and secure. Thank you for your help with this!
