Mrs. Vereyken’s Weekly Update 2/7 – 2/11

This week is the last week until our February academic break. We have a very busy week! If your child did not pick up their progress report for Quarter 3 when they were on campus for pictures last Friday, please stop by campus tomorrow from 9:00 A.M. until 4:00 P.M. to pick it up. Any progress reports not picked up will be mailed home.

Please continue to monitor your student’s academic progress in Canvas by logging into your Canvas observer parent account. If you have questions regarding your student’s progress, please reach out to his or her teacher for information.

Letter of Intent:

• The letter of intent is due for your student by Friday, February 12^th. We extended this deadline due to the delay of the distribution of MS/HS report cards. Thank you to those of you that have already returned your child’s letter to secure their enrollment at CGS next year. If you haven’t received your child’s letter, and were not able to pick up their report card, be on the lookout for that information that was mailed out last week.

 Report Card Audit:

Our Report Card Committee is currently auditing our Quarter 1 and Quarter 2 report cards for all of our elementary students. Once this process has been completed as we did for Middle/High School report cards, we will share any updates with you if it directly impacted your student.

Yearbook Pictures:

• On Wednesday, February 10, 2021, from 8:00 A.M. until 12:00 P.M.:
  • Seniors will take their tux and drape photos. Be on the lookout for an email from your senior advisors or Ms. Peel for your scheduled time to be on campus for your photos.
• On Wednesday, February 10, 2021, from 1:00 P.M. until 4:00 P.M.:
  • ALL of our REMOTE students in K-2 are scheduled to come in for yearbook photos. We are working on sign ups/scheduling options and your child’s teacher will share this information with you when made available.
• Yearbooks are now available for order.  Please visit Strawbridge to place your order.

Athletics:

REMINDER – Mandatory Spring Sport Try-out From DUE – Monday, February 8

Parents and Student-Athletes,

This is a reminder that the Mandatory Spring Sports Try-out Form is DUE on Monday, February 8. As of right now we are very low on numbers for ALL spring sports.  If we do not get more student-athletes signed up, we will not have that sport this year. Please see the sports, the total number of athletes signed up as of now and how many we need to have a team.  Please talk to your friends and remind them to get the form in by the due date.

Varsity Girls Soccer – 6 signed up. Need 15 to have a team

Varsity Softball – 2 signed up. Need 12 to have a team

Varsity Boys Tennis – 3 signed up. Need 6 to have a team

Varsity Boys Baseball – 3 signed up. Need 12 to have a team

Varsity Girls Tennis – 1 signed up. Need 6 to have a team.

Middle School Girls Soccer – 1 signed up. Need 15 to have a team

Middle School Softball – 8 signed up. Need 12 to have a team

Middle School Baseball – 6 signed up. Need 12 to have a team

MS Co-Ed Golf – 2 signed up. Need 3 to have a team

3^rd-5^th Grade Families:

• 3^rd-5^th grade families, be on the lookout on Thursday/Friday of this week for a couple of informative emails regarding information for those families that chose for their student to return to campus for “in-person” instruction. There will be information provided in regards to arrival/dismissal, Covid-19 procedures, classroom expectations/schedule, etc. Please reach out to your child’s teacher with any questions/concerns. Please review the schedule below for the “staggered re-entry” plans for 3^rd-5^th grade beginning on Monday, February 22, 2021. 

• Schedule for 3^rd-5^th Grade Students returning to Campus:
  • Monday, February 22, 2021: 3^rd Grade Students on Campus 
  • Tuesday, February 23, 2021: 4^th Grade Students on Campus
    • (3rd-grade students already on campus) 
  • Wednesday, February 24, 2021: 5^th Grade Students on Campus
    • (3^rd and 4th-grade students already on campus) 

Material Distribution:

-On Monday, February 8, 2021,  we will have another distribution of materials for students. If your student has any of the courses listed below, please make sure that you come by campus and pick up their materials. Please stay in your vehicle and we will bring the material out to you. Please enter from the Burch Bridge Road entrance and travel around the building to the front circle. We request that you wear your face mask while interacting with our faculty/staff and that you remain 6 feet apart to social distance. If you’ve been in contact with anyone that has tested positive for Covid-19 or if you have symptoms of Covid-19 yourself, please do not come on campus. Thank you for helping us keep our faculty/staff safe!

 Students with last names A-M will need to pick up materials from 9:00 A.M. until 12:00 P.M.

Students with last names N-Z will need to pick up materials from 1:00 P.M. until 4:00 P.M.

Ballard, Chandler	2nd Grade remote students only	Class valentines & Valentine Zoom party supplies
USB Flash Drives	All students with limited or no internet access that are on the “flash drive” list
