Today our sixth through twelfth grade students were either introduced to or retrained on the Sandy Hook Promise, See Something Say Something program. The program educates students to recognize the warning signs of a student that might be planning to hurt themselves or others and/or experiencing a mental health crisis. Students are taught how they should act immediately and take threats seriously. Whether the perceived threat is something seen online, heard in the hallway, and observed immediate action is a must. Strategies are also shown on how to act/get help. The three suggested strategies are:

  • Speak with a trusted adult (at school or home)
  • Call 911 if the threat is an immediate danger or
  • Contact the counselors at See Something Say Something
  • Counselors can be reached via the See Something Say Something app (available from your app store), by calling 1.844.5.SAYNOW, or anonymously via the internet.

Our students are the eyes and ears of our school. They often times hear or see things that the adults do not. By creating an environment where they are free to share their concerns we will keep Clover Garden a safe environment for all students.

Please remember that we as a faculty, staff, and administration are here to listen, keep you safe, and help you through struggles. Our care for students goes beyond passing or failing grades. #weCARE #SaySomething
