Our 3rd and last set of NC Check Ins begin this week for 3rd-8th grade students. This benchmarking assessment helps us to see where our students are excelling and where additional supports are needed prior to their last and final end of year assessments in May. Please encourage your students to do their very best on their check ins so we will know exactly what supports to put into place this last quarter to best prepare them for their EOGs/EOCs.

Some of our students are at risk for retention. Those of you that have students in this category have already been contacted from your child’s teacher. Administration will also be reaching out to you soon to discuss end of the year goals and expectations that your child must surpass in order to advance to the next grade level/course.

Covid-19

We were at 0% quarantined students and 0% positive Covid-19 cases last week at CGS!! This is amazing and such refreshing news! Please continue to keep your student healthy and well and keep them home if they are exhibiting signs of Covid-19. Reminder that per NCDHHS guidance, if your child is positive for Covid-19, they may return to school in 5 days, BUT must continue wearing a facemask for an additional 5 days. If you have any questions regarding this procedure, please contact our school’s nurse, Ms. Corbett at angelacorbett@cgsnc.org.
