We are quickly approaching our last Academic Break week for the 21-22 school year. The next Sunday message will go out on Sunday, February 27th. Please stay safe over the break!

Covid-19:

Please see our attached metrics. Our Covid-19 numbers are getting much better! We are hopeful that this will continue to be the case for the remainder of February. As we approach our next Academic Break, please make sure that you all are staying safe and well. Our community transmission rates are still alarmingly high, so please make smart and safe choices when participating in activities within the community. Please remember that all outside choices will positively or negatively affect our rate of positive Covid-19 cases within our school building.

Picture Day:

Spring Picture Make Up Date will be Friday, March 4th. Any students interested in “retakes” are welcome to take an individual spring photo on this date.

Early Dismissal Procedure:

Parents, just a gentle reminder that all students needing to leave school early for any reason must be checked out by 2:20 P.M. Dismissal is a very busy and fast-moving time, so any dismissal transportation changes, etc. must be completed/requested PRIOR to 2:20 P.M. in order for safe and accurate delivery of the message. All students needing to be signed out early must be done by 2:20 P.M. This allows for a smooth, successful, and safe afternoon dismissal procedure. This information is also in our CGS Student/Parent Handbook. If you have any questions, please contact our front office manager, Mrs. Lassiter at arlenelassiter@cgsnc.org

Sign in and out:

We know that we may have some parent volunteers coming into the classrooms on Monday, 2/14 for Classroom Parties. Please remember that you must’ve signed up for a time/classroom prior to coming on campus with your child’s teacher. We are slowly working to increase our volunteers/visitors on campus now that Covid-19 numbers are decreasing, but we are still limiting the amount of adults in the classrooms at one time to 2-3 total volunteers. This expectation also goes for parent/teacher conference requests. You must have an appointment confirmed with your child’s teacher PRIOR to coming on campus. This ensures that all parties are adequately prepared for the meeting to make sure it runs as effectively as possible. Please remember that you must sign in via the security office if you are on campus during our school day.
