IMPORTANT INFORMATION:

Due to inclement winter weather today and the increase of positive COVID-19 cases/quarantined students and staff on campus, Clover Garden School will be CLOSED this week 1/18-1/21. (1/17- Holiday- already closed) We greatly apologize for ANY inconvenience that this may cause you or your family. However, at this time, the safety and wellness of all of our Clover Garden School students and staff is our #1 priority. We will be using built-in inclement weather days/emergency days and at this time the four days used this week will NOT need to be made up. However, at this time, there IS a possibility that our school may have to make additional decisions regarding the week of 1/24 IF Covid-19 numbers do not improve. Our school has the ability to temporarily switch to remote instruction if deemed absolutely necessary. In overall truth and transparency, this will be an option our Health and Wellness Committee and school board will be considering if the spread of Covid-19 at CGS doesn’t improve over this upcoming week. We wanted to ensure that you have this information as soon as possible so that you can plan accordingly. At our current time, the risk outweighs the benefit of having our students and staff on campus for in-person instruction. Our goal at Clover Garden School continues to be providing quality, in-person instruction to all of our students. If our staffing resources continue to be depleted and we are unable to provide in-person instruction to ALL students, we will make adjustments as needed and we will notify you as quickly as possible. If there are any changes made to next week’s schedule (1/24-1/28) we will let you know ASAP.

We thank you all for your continued support as we continue to navigate these unchartered and challenging waters. Please stay safe and healthy this week.

In summary, Clover Garden School will be CLOSED this week, 1/18-1/21 (already closed on 1/17- holiday)

Covid-19

Unfortunately, we have hit another record-breaking week in Covid-19 spread. These numbers have put many of our faculty/staff out on quarantine as well as our overall student body. We’ve had to shut down all extracurricular activities until further notice. Shout out to our amazing faculty/staff and substitutes who have been filling in everywhere all over the school to help with our absences. Shout out to our amazing families who have quickly identified signs/symptoms and have called the school immediately to report these. Our numbers could’ve been even worse without your diligence and close attention to detail when your student(s) started having Covid-19 symptoms. Another shout out to our amazing Covid-19 coordinator, Mrs. Cox, and our Nurse’s Assistant, Mrs. Keller, who have had an extremely tough job this week identifying students/staff of positive cases and doing close-contact tracing to get our students out of the building as quickly as possible to reduce the spread of Covid-19. Lastly, thank you to our Health & Wellness Committee who continue to monitor the spread of Covid-19 in our school and work tirelessly to navigate what is in the best interest of our school during this unprecedented time. Your time is greatly appreciated.

Our county/state is currently reporting the highest record of positive cases since the pandemic started in March 2020 which currently sits close to 30% positivity rate. This is a very dangerous time that greatly threatens our school community’s health and wellness. Please see the attached metrics for this past week. This number has already increased over the weekend for our CGS faculty/staff which sits at 21% of faculty and staff currently out on quarantine, 16% of Middle School students out on quarantine, 14% of High School students out on quarantine, and 8% of Elementary Students out on quarantine.

We hope that this wave will soon be over.

Please stay safe and well this week!
