This past week, our Clover Garden School Board of Directors met to discuss and re-evaluate our re-opening plans for January. Due to current and anticipated holiday travel, our Board of Directors voted in favor of delaying the return date for our K-2 students by two weeks. This decision was made to ensure the safety and wellness of our faculty, staff, and students. We are enforcing this two week quarantine time after the holidays to help prevent the spread of Covid-19 within our Clover Garden School community.

An additional change that was made to our re-opening plan was that we will now “stagger” our K-2 students back on campus beginning January 19th.

The “updated” re-entry schedule looks like:

Tuesday, January 19th, 2021: ½ of Kindergarten returns on campus

Wednesday, January 20th, 2021: ½ of Kindergarten returns on campus

Thursday, January 21st, 2021: All of Kindergarten is on campus, AND 1st grade students will be on campus

Friday, January 22nd, 2021: All of Kindergarten, All of 1st grade, AND all of 2nd grade students will be on campus

By allowing a staggered re-entry plan, we will be able to further ensure the safety and health of all of our students returning to campus.

Please remember that the last day of remote learning prior to the holidays will be on Friday, December 18th, 2020 and will return on Monday, January 4th, 2021.

If your student has any textbooks that need to be returned to campus, please make sure this is done by Friday, December 18th in order to give us time to sanitize and disinfect the material prior to redistributing to other students on January 4th. Please make sure your student’s name and teacher’s name are listed on a post-it note on the book or on a sheet of paper placed inside of the book.

K-2 families, your child’s teacher will be in touch with you the first week of January with instructions/details/more guidance on what your child’s day will look like while on campus or when working from home. The guidance will also try and answer any questions/concerns that you may still have about your student returning.

We are looking forward to getting our students back on campus! We will continue to monitor current metrics and health and safety guidance from the CDC and NCDHHS.

Thank you for your flexibility and patience with us as we navigate through these unchartered waters together!
