Makayla Simmons

Makayla Simmons has been a Clover Garden Grizzly since sixth grade. As a high school student, Makayla was an active member of Color Guard, Journalism, Art, and was voted the 2019-2020 Homecoming Queen. She is also an avid horseback rider and singer with Integrity.

After graduation Makayla will continue her education at either Liberty University or Emory and Henry College. She plans to pursue a degree in nursing and become a registered nurse.

When asked what she felt her graduating class will be remembered for Makayla stated, “They told us senior year would fly by, I didn’t know it was going to roll. But we were the ones who survived, we may not have had the year we wanted but we still had a lot of memories and laughter.

When Makayla thought back over her time as a Grizzly she had many great memories. The ones that she treasures most revolve around being a member of the color guard. She loved, “Going to compete and bringing home our 1st place trophies.”

As Makayla reflected over her academic journey thus far she had several people that have helped her on her road to graduation. She wishes to thank, “Jamie Deem and Steve Morris, They never gave up on me. Jamie loved me through it all and knew what I was capable of. If I needed her she was there for me. They always made time to talk to me to make sure I had everything I needed to succeed and grow. My Parents, they made sure I went to a school I would learn a lot and graduate with the highest potential. They helped me study and learn life is tough but if I stay on the right path I will make it far.”

Makayla as your pursue your dream of becoming a nurse your Clover Garden family is behind you! We are certain great things await you as you pursue your goals!
