Sydney Medley

Today we spotlight yet another student that has been a Grizzly since Kindergarten, Sydney Medley. This young lady has been a vibrant part of the Clover Garden family as she developed into the vivacious young lady she is today. While in high school Sydney was a very active member of the CGS Marching and Jazz Band. She was a Section Leader for several years and as a Senior, she was voted Band Captain. In addition to the band, she was a member of BETA, Sociedad Honoraria Sociedad, Junior Civitan, and Student Government. Sydney also participated in the PALs Program and was a Teacher Cadet this year.

Sydney is excited to continue her education at the University of North Carolina at Wilmington where she will pursue a degree in nursing.

When she reflected on what she feels the 2020 Class will be remembered for Sydney stated, “Coronavirus, we survived the great toilet paper shortage!”

When asked what her favorite memory was from her time at CGS she said, “Hanging out with pawpaw in his office before school every morning and during lunch.” Sydney’s grandfather, Mr. Robert Medley worked in the Clover Garden front office until he retired earlier this year.

As Sydney looked back over her academic career thus far, she wanted to thank several people that made a mark on her life:

Casey Thompson – made every day of my senior year a little brighter with all of our laughs. She has also helped me tremendously with getting ready for college. Steve Morris – taught me to be not only a good musician but a leader. Pawpaw – always encourages me no matter what and keeps a smile on my face. David Babb – for making my senior year of band memorable and always being there.”

Sydney as you become a Seahawk at UNCW just remember your Grizzly family is very proud of you and know you will go far!
