Today we are starting a new blog series to honor our Seniors. We realize how difficult this time of quarantine is for all our students but it is especially tough on our 2020 graduates. This is a small way we can remind them just how special they are to our Clover Garden family, which is behind them one hundred percent as they complete this rite of passage.

Ava Dellinger

Ava’s entire educational experience thus far has been here at Clover Garden as she started at CGS in Kindergarten. She has been an active part of the Grizzly community in high school participating in clubs and activities such as BETA, Spanish Club, FCA (Fellowship of Christian Athletes), Dance, Prom Committee, and NSHSS (National Society of High School Students).

After graduation, she will attend the University of North Carolina at Greensboro in the fall where she will study nursing. Ava hopes to become a neonatal or labor and delivery nurse with the possibility of becoming a midwife in the future.

When asked what she felt what the legacy of the Class of 2020 will be she stated, “I think that the legacy of the Class of 2020 will be that we graduated during a global pandemic! One benefit of that though was that we got to have an awesome senior parade!”

As Ava reflected back on her academic career she wanted to thank several people that have provided guidance and support and that left a lasting mark on her as a person, “I have had so many wonderful people impact my life throughout my school years. There are so many people that deserve to be listed here but my top four are my mom, my dad, my mawmaw, and Mr. Weis. Both of my parents have been very supportive of my decisions regarding school and my future plans. My mawmaw also has always supported and encouraged me in everything I do. Mr. Weis has really helped me through my senior year with taking time to actually know me, give me advice about school work and future school plans, and encouragement to get where I am at the end of this year. Thank you all so much for all of your help!”

She also had numerous fond memories of her time at Clover Garden. “Everything from my 8th grade Outer Banks field trip all the way to water day during senior year. There are multiple great memories from all of the other years, but my favorite memory is spending my senior year with my best friends Samantha, Sarah, and Mr. Weis. I also enjoyed it when Coach Moyer and Mrs. Robyn would stop by the classroom and we would all joke around.”

Ava, as you embark on this next chapter of your life know that your Clover Garden family stands with you and is very proud of your past and future accomplishments. We are certain the future holds bright things for you.
