Mr. Cox earned his Bachelor of Science in Physics from The Citadel in 1996 before serving in Korea and Japan as an engineer officer. He began teaching in 2002 and brings a wide range of professional and classroom experience to CGS.
Throughout his career, Mr. Cox has worked as a construction project manager and as a product developer for Carolina Biological Supply Company, where he created educational science kits for physics, chemistry, and earth science. He has taught Earth Science, Chemistry, Physics, AP Physics, and Project Lead the Way engineering and design courses. Most recently, he taught for three years at Triad Math and Science Academy in Greensboro.
Mr. Cox currently lives in Gibsonville with his dog, Rocket.
