Seniors and Senior Parents,
We will be sending out information periodically to help you keep track of all things Senior related this school year! Congratulations on your student getting to this milestone in their educational career! ????????It’s going to be a fast but fun year and we will try our best to make it memorable and exciting for our senior class!

College Application Week is the week when many North Carolina colleges and institutions waive their application fees for students applying to college on CFNC.org.This event is part of NC Countdown to College (C2C), a year-long initiative where we encourage students to complete the following three steps in college enrollment: residency, financial aid, and college applications.
So, check out the list now and start getting your students prepared for October!
NC College Connect directly admits North Carolina public high school seniors to select UNC System universities, North Carolina independent colleges and universities, and their local North Carolina community college where they already meet admissions requirements. It’s that simple!
Students with a weighted GPA of 2.8 or above who meet NC College Connect requirements will be eligible for direct admission at a select list of participating colleges and universities.
If a student doesn’t meet the 2.8 GPA threshold, they will receive direct admission to their local community college.
How does it work? On September 15th, students can log in to their CFNC student account to see if they’re eligible. All eligible students will also receive a formal letter in the mail in late September. On the NC College Connect portal at CFNC.org, applicants will see a complete list of colleges and universities to which they have been admitted. They will then have the option to complete the NC College Connect form to accept the admission offer at the institution of their choice. Then, colleges will reach out with next steps on enrollment, financial aid, and more.

- Seniors need a CFNC.org and CommonApp account. FASFA is scheduled to open by 12/1, so gather the information needed to complete FASFA to be prepared to apply for financial aid. Check out CFNC.org and Fastweb for scholarship opportunities. If you need teacher or counselor recommendations, please request them at least two weeks in advance to allow time for them to be completed.
- The early action deadline for several colleges and universities is Friday, November 1st. Please contact Dr. Morris if you need support with your applications.

Introducing NCICU Direct Admission
Introducing NCICU Direct Admission for 26 Colleges and Universities
Twenty-six North Carolina private colleges and universities are offering eligible students more immediate acceptance to their campuses for the 2025-2026 academic year. North Carolina Independent Colleges & Universities (NCICU) recently announced the Direct Admission Program to provide a seamless and swift application process. North Carolina seniors with a weighted GPA of 2.8 or higher can answer a few straightforward questions and then receive information directly from the colleges and universities of their choice, including details about conditional acceptance, specific campus requirements, and available financial aid options.
