CGS Families,

Clover Garden School will be CLOSED tomorrow, February 2, 2026 due to inclement weather. Our make up date for this snow day will be on Wednesday, March 4th, 2026. This date is no longer a teacher workday for parent/teacher conferences. If you need to schedule a time to meet with your child’s teacher, we recommend sending them an email to set up a mutually agreed upon time for a conference to discuss your student’s academic progress this school year.

Although the snow was beautiful to see, we are hoping for lots of melting over the next several days so that we can get back into our school routine. A special thank you to our CGS parent who has already jumped in to help us plow the snow/ice at our entrance at our K-8 campus! It truly takes a village! We are thankful for our parent volunteers!

We are working on clearing our parking lots, sidewalks, and looking at roadways to ensure that our buses, families, staff, and students will be able to travel safely to school. We hope to return to CGS this week as soon as possible!

Thank you for your responses to the inclement weather survey that was sent out on Friday. The most popular response to any additional inclement weather days missed was to use the workdays/mental health days, etc. remaining in our 25-26 academic calendar first. Once we’ve exhausted those days, we will then move to adding on additional school days at the end of the school year if necessary based on survey results. We greatly appreciate your time in completing the survey.

Next year, we will also look into implementing a remote learning plan that will potentially grant us 5 additional days to use as needed for inclement weather. Thank you for your response to that survey question. Remote learning plans are only as successful as the teacher creating it, the parents who are implementing it, and the students who are completing it. The survey showed that our staff and families are willing to participate in remote learning during inclement weather days. We will work on the process of creating a remote learning plan and getting it approved by NCDPI for our students to use at CGS next school year.

Thank you again for your patience and flexibility during this time!

Please continue to stay safe and warm!

As always, thanks for all that you do,

Mrs. Vereyken
