Christine Johnson, Middle School, Teacher
I have always wanted to be a teacher for as long as I can remember. My plan changed when I had to temporarily leave college to help run our family business. Temporary turned into long term. Ten wonderful years later, we sadly closed the business. This put me back on the path to teaching. I'm very grateful that this pathway brought me to Clover Garden, where I get to see student's eyes light up when they do a science experiments or learn a new history fact. My role of believing in students, developing their character, growing their knowledge, and guiding them to success is a daily privilege that I do not take for granted.
B.S. in K-6 Education with a minor in English and Drama from UNC Greensboro. This will be my fourth year teaching. Science and Social studies-5th grade.
My husband, Casey, and I have been married for almost 19 years. We have 2 teenage boys-Alexander and Griffin. We have 1 dog and three cats. We have a class pet, a bearded dragon, named Darwin.
My family likes to watch movies, play games, or do puzzles. I love to swim whenever I can. I am an avid reader and I love expanding my knowledge reading non-fiction subjects. Anything about science, education, or history are my favorites. I never miss Jeopardy. I am a big time crafter while binge watching Netflix. Lifelong Tar Heel Fan!
Do not go where the path may lead, go instead where there is no path and leave a trail.” -Ralph Waldo Emerson
