Ann Otey, Elementary, Teacher

I come from a large family, I was born and raised in Caswell County NC. I am married and have three children who attend school here at CGS. I have a passion for teaching, it is my mission to make a positive impact in the lives of my students and help them create a love for learning. I worked as an assistant where I first learned of my love for working with children and was inspired by my colleague and friend who I assisted. Witnessing her love, dedication and relationships she had with her students and their families made me know teaching was the path I wanted to take in my life. I earned my Associates Degree in Early Childhood from Haywood Community College, worked as an assistant here at Clover Garden School for six years and along the way made the decision to go back to school for my Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education with Grand Canyon University. This is my seventh year teaching kindergarten here at Clover Garden School. I enjoy spending my free time attending my children’s sporting events and enjoying family time by the lake or at the beach.
