Rachel Sanders, Elementary, Title 1 Teacher Assistant

I attended the Savannah College of Art and Design and earned a BFA in Metals and Jewelry. From there I moved to Los Angeles, where I made silver and enamel jewelry in my home studio and managed an art gallery. Returning east, I obtained my EMS certification and took a job with Durham County EMS, where I met my husband. We have one daughter, who is a Clover Garden second grader. Last year I became a substitute teacher at Clover Garden so she and I could share a schedule. I have enjoyed being a sub throughout the school, but my favorite age to teach is Kindergarten. I am excited to be joining Ms. Dailey’s kindergarten classroom as a TA. Our family’s house is full with five cats, three dogs, and an angel fish. In my spare time, I enjoy gardening with North Carolina native plants and reading.
