Recently your CGS History Club sponsored an Operation Christmas Child Drive. Thanks to the generosity of the Clover Garden community we were able to brighten Christmas for more than 90 children!

You may remember seeing this photo of Mr. Johnson loading his Jeep with OCC boxes. At that time we had 71 completed. Thanks to a late delivery Mrs. Thompson and her Freshman Seminar, Microsoft Word, Introduction to Office Productivity, and Business and Entrepreneurship classes did not have their boxes ready. During break, the last WOW items came in and she was able to deliver 20 additional boxes to the volunteers at St Marks Church in Burlington.

Mrs. Thompson’s Freshman Seminar class integrated this project into the curriculum as they studied personal finance and how to stretch their money farther by comparison shopping, unit prices, and needs versus wants. Then her Introduction to Office Productivity class used Google Sheets to set up a shopping list and cost breakdown. All of her classes participated in raising money for this project! Sadly, they were not able to help pack the boxes due to the late delivery.

We are very proud of all our students that participated in this project and remembered that sometimes spreading hope and happiness is as simple as sharing. Soon we will be able to track some of these boxes and see the impact of our Grizzlies!
