There will not be a Sunday message next week as we take the week to spend time with our families and celebrate the Thanksgiving holiday! The next Sunday message will go out on Sunday, 11/28.

Progress Reports will go home with your student this Friday, November 19th. Please review your student’s progress as we are quickly closing in on the end of Quarter 2. Only a month left!

Covid-19:

Please see the attached metrics for Covid-19 numbers at CGS. At our last BOD meeting on 11/9, our Board voted to allow for some of our restrictions to be lifted at CGS. We are very excited about the opportunities our kids will have now due to decreased numbers! Our face mask mandate REMAINS in effect. The updates are listed below.

  • Visitors:
    • Visitors allowed at BOD meetings
    • Limit of 3 visitors allowed in classrooms for parties/celebrations (no volunteers in the classroom at this time)
  • Food:
    • Food may be served as “normal” (No pre-packaged requirement)
    • High School will begin utilizing the cafeteria for lunch time (MS/K-5 will continue eating in their classrooms for lunch)
    • Concession Stand for ballgames will serve food that isn’t pre-packaged.
  • Extra-Curricular Activities:
    • Band, Chorus, and Dance Concerts will be able to be held in the gymnasium (indoors)
  • Quarantine:
    • CGS’ Quarantine Policy has been updated to reflect 10 days of quarantine required for those identified as positive or close contacts vs. the previous 14 day requirement. Quarantine begins the day following the tested date.
  • Assemblies:
    • We will now be able to have assemblies in our gymnasium during the school day!
      • We will begin testing this out by allowing small numbers of students in the gym at one time.
      • This Friday, we will have a mini-homecoming PEP rally for K-12 homecoming representatives. This will be divided out into three separate assemblies: K-5, MS, and HS. We hope this goes well and we are able to continue with “during the school day” assemblies. (We will let you know if we are able to live stream this event)
  • Athletics and PE:
    • PE and Athletics will begin utilizing the Locker Rooms
    • Basketball players (and students in PE) will not require the use of face masks during active play. Same rule applies for referees at basketball games.
