We officially made it through our first week back with our new all-day schedule. All of our students in K-12 did a fantastic job last week transitioning to our new routine. Shout out to all of our parents as well for being patient last week while we worked to improve car lines, traffic, etc. Another shout out to our amazing CGS faculty/staff who did a great job last week switching gears to teaching both in-person and remote learning students. We know there are additional “kinks” that we will need to work out of our system, but we appreciate your patience and understanding while we all work together to ensure the health and safety of all of our students while providing quality instruction!

Testing:

  • NC Check-Ins- April 12th thru 23rd
    • Over the next 2 weeks’ students in grades 3 thru 8 (plus 9th graders in Math 1) will be taking their final set of NC Check-Ins for the year.  The check-ins will take place during the school day.  Check-Ins are very important to our students as it provides important data about areas that they need to work on as well as giving them practice for our end of the year State exams.
  • ***REMOTE STUDENTS- Grades 3rd thru 8th (plus 9th grade Math 1) ***
    • These students will come to the CGS campus on Wednesday, April 14th AND Wednesday, April 21st to take their Check-Ins.  Students are expected to arrive each Wednesday between 8:15-8:30am.  Testing will begin each day at 8:45am.  Students should be dropped off in the front circle of the school (entering from Birch Bridge Rd.).  Students will be ready for pick-up around 10:45am in the front circle.

Website Updates:

  • We are updating our website and there may be a time this week where the website is unavailable while the updates take place. We’ve been able to make most of these changes over the weekend but if you experience an “outage”, it will be temporary. We are hoping for limited disruption but wanted to make sure you all were aware. In the meantime, you can visit our school’s Facebook page for updates.

Covid-19 Reminders:

  • Parents, please make sure that you are filling out our “Symptom Screener” for Covid-19 daily PRIOR to your student arriving on campus. IF your student answers “yes” to any of those questions, DO NOT SEND your student to school. We would rather error on the side of caution and have you keep your child at home than you send your student to school with symptoms that could or could not be results of having Covid-19. Please help us ensure the safety and health of our CGS Community by keeping your student at home if they have any symptoms of Covid-19. If you have any questions about this, please contact our Covid-19 coordinator, Mrs. Cox at jennifercox@cgsnc.org.
