Karri Melton, Elementary, Teacher

Since I was 5 years old and began school myself, I have known I have wanted to be a teacher. I love knowing that I make a difference each and every day. I especially love being guaranteed to get lots of hugs and bright eyed smiles every time I enter the doors of the school!!! Seeing a kid's face light up when they have worked so hard and they finally 'get it' is priceless to me. I wish to help mold young minds so that they will become responsible, motivated, kind and successful adults one day! There is no better feeling than to see your current and former students succeeding when it matters most!

I received my Elementary Education (K-6) degree from UNCG with a second major in English. This will begin my 20th year of teaching.

My husband, Brad, teaches and coaches football at Eastern Guilford High School. We have three super active daughters, Lindsay (16), Isley (14), and Kennedy (12). We also have an adorable dog named, Lucy! *Yes poor Brad is surrounded by ALL girls at home!!!

I LOVE taking pictures and capturing memories (it drives my children nuts sometimes)! I am a true blue Carolina Tarheels and Carolina Panthers fan. I also love sports, both watching (especially my daughters) and participating in them and I love to be outside. I wish I had a beach house- I would be there every chance I got to sit back and listen to the sound of the waves crashing. My church family is also very important to me.
