Today we turn the Senior Spotlight to Caleb James. Caleb had been a Grizzly for the past ten years. During that time, he has participated in on and off-campus opportunities. In addition to being a student, Caleb works at Lowe’s Foods and volunteers through his church.

Once you graduate high school, what is your college/career plan?

I hope to attend either A&T State University, Greensboro College, UNCG, UNC Pembroke, or Western Carolina University. After college, I hope to enter the cybersecurity field and work toward becoming a cybersecurity analyst

Can you tell us about an experience or project in a class that impacted you and explain why it did?

I feel like Mr. Kistler always telling me to ‘strive for 5’ changed my mindset on grades.

Have you held any leadership roles on or off campus?

I have mentored several people at my work in performing various tasks and volunteered at my church through Adopt A Highway. We also did a program at my church where we rang bells outside stores for the Salvation Army around Christmas.

What obstacles have you overcome during high school that has prepared you for the future?

The biggest obstacles I have overcome in high school are mainly tests and hard classes like math.

People describe me as kind and trustworthy
