Feedback Form FAQ 22-23

“Feedback Form” Submissions from week of 9/12:

When will the grades be fixed for 5th grade? I have no way of knowing what my child’s current grades are?

  • We are sorry for the delay. There were issues with the Canvas Platform and Power School Platform but are currently being resolved. Grades should be updated by Wed. of this week! We appreciate your patience and understand the frustration with not being able to see your student’s progress. You will see updated grades by Wed. and will receive their most up to date progress report on Wed. as well.

When will the new academic schedule calendar for 23/24 be available?

  • It was officially approved by the BOD at last week’s meeting. It will be posted on our website this week!

When will the Make-Up Day for school pictures be?

  • 9/26 will be the Make-Up Picture day for Fall pictures.

Why can’t we park in the parking spaces behind the Sheriff’s car? There are temporary no parking signs out in the spaces.

  • The parking space marked behind our School Resource Officer’s car belongs to one of our staff members and is reserved. The spaces marked off behind that spot that are considered towing zones are done so to ensure that we can always have 2 lanes of traffic running at all times for safety in case of fire, etc. Parking cars on that curve prevents through traffic. Additional parking spaces if the front circle is full can be found in our overflow parking lot located behind building three.

If we are struggling to get teachers at our current location how are we going to be able to fill all the needed positions at the new high school? Some of the teachers now teach middle and high school.

  • This is a very valid concern that we appreciate you sharing! Our amazing staff at CGS are working very hard as we’ve begun logistical planning for next school year. We are doing our best to work out feasible schedules that will allow our teachers the opportunity to stay on one campus as much as possible with the least amount of travel back and forth as possible. We are working on recruiting strategies now once we “finalize” next year’s master schedule to help fill the new positions as well as fulfill our current vacancies.

When should we be receiving the proofs from the Sports Pictures so that we can order them?

  • Coach Paschal is making contact with the vendor representative this week in regards to pictures and will be in contact with when to expect your student-athlete’s proofs.’

If you missed something or just need clarity on an event, etc. please fill out the form found here: https://forms.gle/L7oKFaRZUuiuh8JH7 This form will be monitored weekly and answers to frequently asked questions will be provided in the weekly Sunday message.

Lost and Found

Parents, don’t forget to check out our lost and found photos posted on our website to see if your students have forgotten any of their belongings at school. As a suggestion, initial or write your student’s name in their jackets, hats, etc. so that we can ensure that their items get returned to them if left. Thank you!

Drop off Procedures in the morning

REMINDER: Please do NOT drop your student off prior to 7:30 A.M. Even if it’s just a few minutes early. Dropping your student off on the porch and driving away is not allowed and is dangerous! Our staff are not available to supervise our students until 7:30 A.M. If your student is dropped off early, they will be required to attend before school and you’ll acquire a fee for before school care.

Your student must be dropped off and in their classrooms by 8:00 A.M. In the past, we’ve given a “cushion” of 5 minutes but we are losing valuable instructional minutes 1st period when we do this. Please leave your home early enough and safely enough to ensure your student is on time for school and inside their classroom when our 8:00 A.M. bell rings. Thank you for making your child’s education a TOP priority! You will be asked to sign in if your student is not on campus in enough time to make it to their classroom by 8:00 A.M. A copy of our tardy policy can be found in our Student/Parent Handbook on pages 13 & 14 if you’d like to reference it.

Thank you to all of you that travel on our campus safely, drive 5 mph or less, and don’t pass in our car rider lines! We greatly appreciate you and your dedication to the safety of our staff and students on campus!

Picture Day Money DUE
