Progress reports will go home this Thursday! Please review your child’s progress report with them as we are halfway through the 4th and FINAL quarter for this school year. When we return from Spring Break, End of Course exams will begin in just a few short weeks.

Spring Break begins this Friday, April 15, 2022- Friday, April 22, 2022. We look forward to seeing students back on campus following break on Monday, April 25. 2022.

Culture Week:

Prom 2022:

  • Prom will be held this Friday, April 15th from 6:00 P.M. until 10:00 P.M. LAST CHANCE MONDAY for purchasing Prom Tickets. If there are any students interested in having/purchasing professional photos taken at the Prom venue, there is a photographer who collaborates with the venue that is offering discounted pricing. Summer Learning Program:

  • Our CGS Academic Committee has been working hard on a learning program being offered this summer to help with instructional loss due to Covid-19. Please see the letter for more details and if your student would qualify to attend this summer learning program. We will be sending out more information to those families of students who are eligible to attend after the completion of the EOG’s.

Book Fair:

  • Shout out to our AMAZING Grizzly Families for supporting our Spring Scholastic Book Fair. We made over $10,000 in the Book Fair last week! This is amazing! This year has been record-breaking for sales for both the fall and spring book fairs. Shout out to all of our wonderful parent volunteers and Mrs. Redd who kept our Book Fair rolling last week! The proceeds go back into the school and into the classrooms to restock and replenish our resources for our students/teachers. The online book fair stays open until Thursday, 4/14

Teacher Appreciation Week:

  • Teacher Appreciation Week is coming soon!! Teacher Appreciation week will be May 2nd– May 6th.  If you are able/available and would like to help with teacher appreciation week, please email Mrs. Cox at jennifercox@cgsnc.org. 

PTT:

  • Thank you to those of you who came to campus last week in support of our 1st Parents Teachers Together meeting this school year. We have a lot of wonderful families that are willing to support our great school. We appreciate all of you who volunteer your time within the various areas of our school!! Our PTT is looking for officers to help manage/run our PTT as well as committee members/chairpersons. Please see descriptions of officers listed below. The officer positions that are highlighted are VACANT. We will have a Google Form sent out soon to collect information from you if you are interested in serving on our PTT.
    • Objectives and Purpose of the PTT:
      • To serve the public interest and to benefit parents, teachers and students by fostering high standards of educational and moral conduct which merit public confidence.
      • To disseminate information to facilitate the exchange of ideas among members.
      • To sustain a friendly and cooperative atmosphere among parents, teachers and students.
      • To endorse and inform the PTT of specific services, programs and products. 
      • To present information to the public that will help them to understand the role of Clover Garden PTT.
      • To encourage legislation and regulations constructive to our school and to discourage legislation and regulations destructive to our school.
      • To encourage all members to contribute a minimum of four hours monthly of their time, abilities and/ or skills to benefit our school.
      • To support the PTT’s code of ethics. 
    • OFFICERS 
      • PRESIDENT: The president shall be chief officer and preside over all meetings. He/she may appoint all committees as may be deemed necessary to fulfill the objective of the association, and serve as ex officio member of all committees. 
      • VICE PRESIDENT: The vice president shall assist the president and carry out the president’s duties in his or her absence or inability to serve.
      • SECETARY: The secretary shall assure that records are kept of the proceedings of regular and special called meetings and keep any other documents, correspondence and communications for the association. He/she shall prepare and distribute minutes for each meeting. 
      • TREASURER: The treasurer shall have control and custody of the funds of the association and may delegate the authority with the approval of the President. He/she shall delegate the approval of disbursements upon presentation of the proper request form signed off and approved from either President or Principal. He/she shall delegate the deposition of funds of the association in such depository designated by the association. All funds shall be deposited in a timely manner as the treasurer receives them. The treasurer shall present at each quarterly meeting a complete financial statement and a full report at the end of the year.
    • Sub Committees of the PTT:
      • Hospitality
        • This committee works within the PTT to provide support for the teachers/families at CGS. This committee works to provide luncheons for teachers on half days, shows appreciation for teachers during Teacher Appreciation Week and prior to the winter holiday break. This committee also works with the school to support new families at CGS.
      • Fundraiser
        • This committee works on the annual PTT fundraiser. PTT hosts one fundraiser a year that typically consists of a “Family Fun Day” which includes various fun activities/events for students and families to participate in. This committee also organizes an auction in which brings in funds for the PTT to distribute to families and teachers throughout the school year.
      • Cafeteria
        • This committee works on the improvement of our school’s cafeteria. This includes cleaning, organizing, and offering support to the cafeteria coordinator.
      • Scrip
        • This committee works on the organization of the PTT’s SCRIP program which is a “gift card” purchasing program in which families can purchase gift cards and a portion of the proceeds are given back to the school.
      • Building/Grounds
        • This committee works on the continued beautification of the school’s property.

Book Drive:

  • Our Student Council is running a “Books for Babies” campaign. They will be taking cash donations and/or brand new baby board books. This book driveENDS on Wednesday, April 13th. All donations will be going to buy board books to be donated to the Family Support Network of Central Carolina.

Board Election Information (LAST WEEK to send in LOI/Resumes. DUE by April 14th by 5:00 P.M.)

  • We are currently in the process of filling the two parent elected board member seats on our school board that will become available for our 2022-2023 school year. Please see the attached letter for additional information if you are interested in applying. A special shout out goes to our Clover Garden School Board of Directors for their continued unwavering support and guidance for our school during some unprecedented times! Being a board member is more than just attending a board meeting once a month. Our Clover Garden School Board Members pour in endless volunteer hours and committee work in their “free time” to ensure CGS has a successful future! This comes with hard work, mission/vision planning, and strategic oversight. Please see the attached letter for more details if interested in applying.
