Spring Sports have been going strong and battling the weather.  I cannot believe we are halfway done with this season! Please see all the important news and updates below for the month of April below.

  1. Spring Sports Update – I am happy to say all our spring sports are doing GREAT! It is going to continue to be a very busy spring. We are seeing the lovely rainy/windy weather and lots of last minute changes. Please continue keeping up with our TEAM APP for game cancellations, changes and additions to the schedules.  Coaches will be keeping their parents and student-athletes up to date as well.  Keep up the good work!!
    1. Volunteers are needed at ALL home softball games and we need your help. We will need a few volunteers each night to help with admissions and concession stand. In order to volunteer we ask that you sign-up through Mobile Serve. These games will be posted on Mobile Serve on a weekly basis. Please register through the Mobile serve app or contact Coach Moyer with questions. I have attached the Brochure for directions on how to sign up.
    2. All schedules and news feeds can be found on Team App.  This is free to register and it will give you a daily schedule of all events as well as an individual schedule for each sport.  It can be used on your computer or as an app on your phone. I have attached the Brochure for directions on how to sign up.
    3. Clover Garden HOME Game Protocols – Please keep in mind the following:
  • 1. Teams must bring their own water
  • 2. ALL events are “masks optional”
  • 3. No spectator limits
  • 4. Home softball game admission $5.00 adults/$3.00 Students & Senior Citizens
  • 5. Spectators should bring their own chairs as we do not have bleachers.

*****Please remember each school has their own protocols and may be different than ours. As you know these could change on a daily basis. Updates will be sent out as we get them.

  1. Dodson Family Benefit on Thursday, April 7 – The CGS Athletic Booster Club would like to invite everyone out to a very special night on Thursday, April 7.  Our varsity baseball team will be hosting River Mill Academy on Thursday, April 7 at The Burlington Athletic Stadium starting at 7:30. This will be our Senior Night as well as the Dodson Family Benefit Night.  The Burlington Athletic Stadium will be selling concessions and have food trucks available for you to eat. There is a 5:00 game prior to our game.  They will clear the stadium before letting our fans enter sometime around 7:00.
  • We will honor our senior baseball players and senior golfers prior to the start of the game. Admission gate will be $5.00 for everyone and we will sell 50/50 tickets and bracelets sponsoring the Dodson Family to help with medical expenses. As many of you know, their youngest son, Jace, was born with a congenital heart defect that has required surgery at Boston Children’s Hospital and will have future expenses.  The Athletic Booster club would like to show this family some love and donate all profits brought in from the admission gate, 50/50 sale, bracelet sale, and a donation box.  Please come out and have some fun while showing some Grizzly Pride.

  1. 4th Quarter Progress Report Eligibility Check – Q4 progress reports will be coming out on Thursday, April 14 as we head out to Spring Break (April 15-24).  Please remember we will conduct the CGS Q4 Progress Report Grade Check for student-athlete eligibility.  If they are ineligible, they will not be able to participate in practices or games and I will grades again every Friday until the grade becomes a 70% or higher. Student-athletes should be giving their best efforts in class and doing all they can to keep their grades up.  I hope that everyone is prioritizing academics 1st! Below is the policy:
  • It is the policy of Clover Garden that every student-athlete maintains a minimum of a “C” average in each class. Grade checks will be completed at every Progress Report.  If a student-athlete falls below a “C” then they may be on a one-week suspension (Saturday-Thursday) during which time they should be in tutoring. This one-week suspension includes both practices and games and can continue until the grades return to a “C”. We reserve the right to check on ANY student-athletes grade for ANY CLASS at ANY POINT during the practice/game season to ensure continued and consistent eligibility.
