We are excited to start a brand new semester and begin the second part of our 21-22 school year! We hope that everyone was able to spend some quality time with family and friends over the holidays and are ready to get back to work to begin Quarter 3.

Reminder: Tomorrow, 1/3/22 is a TEACHER WORKDAY- NO SCHOOL for students. Students will return on 1/4/22.

Covid-19:

Covid-19 spread remains prevalent in our community. As we all return from traveling and visiting others during the holidays, we want to make sure everyone is proactive in keeping our CGS community well and healthy. If your child exhibits any signs/symptoms of Covid-19, please do not send them to school. Your proactiveness helps to keep our students and staff safe. We will continue with our same mitigations currently in place as we return to campus. In addition to our current mitigations, this week, we will now begin participating in randomized pooled testing for our students, staff, and faculty. Our school has decided to partner with Concentric by Ginkgo to begin Covid-19 pooled testing on-site for our school community. We continue to have safety mitigations in place to help keep our students safe and healthy and by participating in testing, we will add another layer of protection. Please read the attached email carefully and complete the instructions if you allow and give CGS permission to test your child for Covid-19. This request for testing is not required but is highly recommended. Attached as well are the most recent Covid-19 metrics for our school.

Dress Code:

Our Standard of Dress requirements are still in effect. The last day before the holiday break, we had quite a few middle school students wearing sweat pants, leggings, jeans with holes, thin strapped tank tops, etc. Please remind your student to review the dress code in our CGS Student/Parent Handbook which is available in Canvas. The best way your child can remember the expectations for dress code is: “When in doubt, don’t wear it out”. If your student is out of dress code, we will follow our Code of Conduct for disciplinary consequences. Please encourage your student to make good choices when they are getting ready for school in the morning. Getting ready in the morning dressed in professional attire sets the tone and mood for your student’s entire school day. Learning how to “dress for success” now builds good habits that your student will need in the future. Please help us enforce our high expectations now for success in the future.

Have a great week back! Enjoy one last day of holiday break and come back ready to learn on Tuesday.
