Thank you for your help with keeping our students safe and healthy by following our Covid-19 policies and procedures! Our masking is working! Thanks for your support!

Covid-19 Updates

Due to a decrease in positive cases within our community and within our school, our Health and Wellness Committee has decided to loosen some of our restrictions in regards to Covid-19. Now, we are allowing visitors for classroom parties and for meetings, including our monthly BOD meeting. We will continue to require face masks of ANYONE entering our building. Visitors will be limited in our classrooms for our first fall parties that are coming next week. Reach out to your child’s teacher for details (K-5). Our athletics department will also be able to serve food now that does not have to be pre-packaged. This will also be in effect for our lunch room and vendors that supply our lunches. Our committee is meeting again next month to touch base on some additional restrictions being lifted in regards to large group activities, etc. We are excited and hopeful as we see numbers decrease! Keep up the great work!

Grizzlies, the CGS Dance Department is excited to announce Halloween Costume Day!  We hope that all students can participate in this festive opportunity.  Sixth through twelfth grade students must complete the Google Form shown below and have approval before joining in the fun on October 29th. After approval middle and high school Grizzlies will pay $1 on the 29th.  Monies raised during this event will benefit the Dance Program. If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Reeves at betsyreeves@cgsnc.org.

Elementary students do not have to complete the approval process or pay the $1 fee; but remember all costumes need to be school appropriate and within dress code.  We do not allow masks that cover the entire face (only Covid-19 face masks are acceptable), hoods, hats or props such as swords (this is for all grade levels).

Snow Days

Snow Days are always an exciting time for our students/families when winter weather hits. With being remote last year, we did not have any traditional “Snow Days”. Our inclement weather days were used as remote learning days. However, this year, we are working very hard with our Board of Directors in increasing our “normalcy” as much as possible and have decided that Snow Days will be “Snow Days” again as they’ve been in the past. Every year, our school builds in “extra snow days/hours” into our Academic Calendar. This year, if we have to close due to inclement weather, we will use our built in Snow Days first before taking from half days or breaks. We do have the option for remote learning but will hold onto that option solely in the case of a Covid-19 emergency shut down or other emergency that will close us for a lengthy amount of time. Our kids are working so hard this year with their learning and we applaud their perseverance and dedication to their studies! We hope this will give you some clarity on CGS’ stance on Snow Days and expectations for our students/teachers this school year.
