Recently, Mrs. Tunstall’s class read the book “Who Will I Be?” This story is about a girl that did not know what she wanted to be when she grew up. Her father takes her around the community and shows her different occupations. As they walk around they discover that every job helps others. At the end of the story the little girl still does not know what occupation she wants to pursue but she does know that she wants to be a helper.

After they finished reading the book Mrs. Tunstall led a discussion with her students. They spoke about what they wanted to be when they grew up and how those jobs helped others in the community. Mrs. Tunstall commented that, “It really warmed my heart to hear their dreams and see them excited about it.”

This lesson combined social emotional learning and literacy in a fun lesson. It also helped our young Grizzlies start contemplating the future and what it could hold for them. #theskyisthelimit #goGrizzlies
