Last week our CGS Grizzlies took part in Autism Awareness activities. Everyone was invited to wear blue on March 9th to show support for autism awareness. Teachers were provided with videos that helped explain what autism is and were asked to encourage conversations in their classrooms. This was a great opportunity to educate students on the concept of different but equal.

Please take a moment to check out the videos our students had access to last week and discuss them with your child(ren).

Mrs. Savage’s third-grade class took the opportunity to celebrate and learn about autism through art. They created lovely paper collages that featured blue hearts mixed with other colors as well.

Many students participated in this event. Sadly, our day was jam-packed and we did not get photos of all our students decked out in blue.

We hope that this event starts conversations that lead to a better understanding of what autism is and how it affects our community.
