We hope that everyone had a great week and have adjusted successfully back into our academic routine. We are quickly closing in on completing the 3rd quarter. This is a reminder that all grades are to be submitted and turned in by Friday, March 12, 2021. Report Cards for Quarter 3 will be available for K-12 on Monday, March 22, 2021. All K-5 students/MS and HS students that are on campus will get their copy while on campus to take home. Anyone else not on campus will have the opportunity to pick their report card up between the hours of 9:00 A.M. and 4:00 P.M. Any report cards not picked up on 3/22 will be mailed home.

Important Dates for Middle/High School Students:

  • Reminder that ALL Quarter 3 assignments are due Friday, March 12, 2021. This is a Friday and not a Sunday, so please make plans accordingly.
    • Mid Terms:
      • Mid Terms will begin on 3/10/21 for Semester 2, 2nd Block courses.
      • Mid Terms will begin on 3/11/21 for Semester 2, 3rd Block courses.
      • Mid Terms will begin on 3/12/21 for Semester 2, 5th Block courses.
    • Mid Terms will be administered via CANVAS and will NOT take place on campus. 

K-5 Families:

  • K-5 Families, thank you for doing such an excellent job in adhering to our Covid-19 policies and procedures that are in place at CGS. Your students have done an excellent job of following directions and working while at school. Reminder that next week, we will begin enforcing our tardy policy for any students arriving after 8:00 A.M. You will have to sign your student in and not be able to drop them off in the car line if you arrive after 8:00 A.M. Please plan accordingly. Thank you for your patience and flexibility! 
  • As a reminder, if your student is currently learning remotely in grades K-5 during this time, your student will have the option to return on campus for in-person learning beginning on March 22, 2021. Your child’s teacher will be reaching out to you soon inquiring about your decision to have your student remain remote for the remainder of the school year or to return to in-person learning. Please make sure you let your child’s homeroom teacher know of your plans by this Friday, March 5, 2021 so that we can plan for their return and ensure we have Covid-19 safety materials in place for your student.
  • As a reminder, the CGS Board of Directors’ voted in the February board meeting to remain on the ½ day instructional school day schedule of 8:00 A.M. until 12:00 P.M. for the remainder of the school year for our K-5 students.

Middle School/High School Families:

  • Hopefully, you completed the Blended Enrichment Survey that was due on Friday for your student if you were interested. More details will be coming soon for your student if you signed up and completed the survey. We will be working on the schedule and details this week based on students signed up to participate. 
  • As a reminder, all of your student’s daily instruction is provided virtually within the Canvas platform. Please reach out to your child’s teacher if you have questions or concerns.

Retention:

  • CGS Families, your child’s teacher will be reaching out to you soon if your child is in danger of failing for the 20-21 school year. Please review your child’s overall grade in Canvas and in PowerSchool to ensure your student is on track to successfully complete their courses for this school year. Please make sure that you are checking in daily with your student while they are working remotely. You can access your student’s progress by logging into your Canvas Parent Observer account or by accessing the PowerSchool Parent Portal. Reach out to your child’s teacher to set up a virtual parent/teacher conference to address any issues or concerns.

CGS Lottery:

  • Our Clover Garden School lottery will close on Friday of this week. We already have over 450 applicants for families wanting to join our CGS family! Please remind any friends/family members that they must complete an online application through Lotterease which is located on our website if they are interested in attending CGS. If you have any children that are not currently enrolled at CGS and you’d like them to be considered in the lottery, please make sure you fill out an application and designate their “sibling” status. Thank you! 

Middle School Baseball Fundraiser:

  • Middle School Baseball is sponsoring a fundraiser this year! If you’re interested in participating in this fundraiser, please click on the link below for more details! The sign up officially ended on Friday, but is being extended until this Monday, March 1st. Check out the Grizzly Gear in the link below

Rising 6th Grade Students:

  • Parents of current 5th Grade students, please see the email that was sent to you on Friday in regards to your rising 6thgrade student having the opportunity to sign up for elective courses for next school year. Please let Mrs. Reagan know if you did not receive that email at emilyreagan@cgsnc.org. Survey closes on March 3, 2021. 

Spring Book Fair:

CGS Families, it’s time for our LAST book fair of this school year! Our Spring Book Fair will take place the week of: March 8th through March 12th. March is Literacy Month at CGS!

  • The month of March is Literacy Month at CGS! You will see fun and exciting activities taking place on campus and remotely as we celebrate literacy and reading at CGS! Next week is Dr. Seuss week to kick things off! Check out our Facebook page and school’s website for up to date pictures and activities related to reading! 

Senior Parents:

  • We are actively planning for this year’s graduation event and ceremony! We will be reaching out to you soon in regards to plans in place for this year’s graduation events. We are very excited and very proud of this year’s graduating class and are looking forward to celebrating their accomplishments on June 3, 2021! Please make sure that your senior stays on track to graduate by staying on top of their assignments, attendance, and daily instruction. We are looking forward to celebrating this amazing accomplishment with all of you soon. More details coming soon! 

Material Distribution:

  • USB Flash Drive Distribution will be from 9:00 A.M. until 4:00 P.M. on Monday, March 1st for any students on our no-internet/limited internet list.
