In December I had let you know of the opportunity for us to return to extracurricular activities on campus as a marching band. We have our guidelines set and ready to go for these practices. You’ll find attached to this message a letter that outlines the rehearsal procedures, Covid-19 guidelines specific to the band and our goals as a band to meet together. I also have attached the Covid-19 guidance forms that we will be using to facilitate our practices, as well as paperwork that requires signatures from parents and students to attend practice. Please note that the “NCHSAA Covid-19” forms are for our use throughout the season – you do not need to sign and return these before practices begin.

We will begin rehearsing on the week of February 2nd. Practices will be on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4-6. We will begin practices in February by splitting the band in half in order to create “pods” that will rehearse with each other consistently. To put that in perspective, half of the band would come in on Tuesday, and half would come in on Thursday. In March, we hope to be able to host the whole band, socially distant from one another, outside on both Tuesday and Thursday from 4-6.

There are no competitions or events planned for the band to play for as of this email. If any opportunities for community events do arise, I will communicate that to you promptly.

If your student is intending to join us for these practices please sign this Google Form with them for our records.  Please let me know by Friday, January 29th. (due date extension)

You will be notified of the group that your student will be in for rehearsal shortly after that date. Forms attached to this message that require signature are due to me by email or paper no later than the first day of practice.
