It is time once again to gear up our efforts for the Operation Christmas Child shoe box ministry. The CGS History Club; General Alexander Mebane History Militia is proud to host this campaign. This will be our 6th year and we look forward to contributing to this worthy international aid effort. If you are not familiar with the program it is simply to send a Christmas present to millions of children all over the world, by filling a shoe box with much needed personal, hygienic and school related items. The pamphlet you will get with the box will help guide you. If you would like any additional information please access Samaritan’s Purse

To pick up your preprinted shoeboxes and envelopes please arrive at school on Monday November 9, 2020 between 9:00 am and 4:00 pm. If you cannot pickup on Monday 11/9/20 then you may pickup on Monday November 16, 2020 between 9:00 am and 4:00 pm. When you have filled your boxes please return them on Thursday November 19, 2020 between 9:00 am and 4:00 pm. If you cannot drop them off at school then you will be responsible for dropping off your boxes at Saint Marks Church in Burlington or another of the local drop off locations. You may discover these local sites on the Samaritan’s Purse website. If you have any questions please email me at michaeljohnson@cgsnc.org

When you arrive at school on Monday, either the boxes will be on a table outside of the front door of the school, or someone in an approved mask will greet you and hand out the materials you need. When you drop off your filled Christmas Child box leave them on the bench or table outside of the front door to the school. There will be no need to enter the school. This way we can be as safe as possible and still enjoy the experience of giving to those less fortunate. God bless you for participating in this annual project at Clover Garden School. I pray we can provide a little bit of happiness to children during this festive time of year.
