Today we continue out Destination College series with another local university, the University of North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University. Again we are going to head to Greensboro to learn more about the A&T Aggies.

A&T is another member of the North Carolina university system. With over 50 undergraduate programs and 29 master’s level programs A&T appeals to students from North Carolina, all over the United States, and abroad. According to Forbes.com, “North Carolina A&T State University is the largest historically black research university in the U.S. Located in Greensboro, NC, this public university was founded in 1891 and is well-known today for being the highest producer of black engineers, psychology graduates, and certified public accountants. “

This university also has a “highly-regarded College of Engineering that is recognized for consistently ranking first in the nation for the number of degrees awarded to African Americans at the undergraduate level, and for its award-winning faculty.” (Forbes).

Campus Life

Campus life at A&T is vibrant! There are many opportunities offered to students with all kinds of interests. The A&T football program is a huge source of pride on campus. Competing as an NCAA Division I school means competition is tough but the Aggies are tougher! The university is also known for its track and field program.

If athletics isn’t your forte A&T also offers opportunities to participate in the Greek life experience. Several sororities and fraternities are available on campus. This is in addition to the various departmental clubs and organizations sponsored on campus. There is no doubt that the NC A&T campus offers all students the chance to get involved!
