Good morning,

Happy Sunday!

We’ve been busy at CGS this week as we are quickly “winding down” this 1st 9 weeks of instruction. Our “new” 9 weeks begins on October 7th. Many teachers are closing out their gradebooks this week so students need to turn in ANY missing work, etc. this week in order to have an opportunity to get credit for it. Shout out to our amazing Class of 2021 who came on campus this week to take their ACT exam! They were on campus for HOURS completing this assessment and we couldn’t be prouder of them! Keep it up seniors!

The Times News Reader’s Choice Awards for BEST CHARTER SCHOOL in ALAMANCE COUNTY:

The results are in…and we have WON this title for the 5th year in a ROW!! THANK YOU for choosing Clover Garden School as your School of Choice and for making us once again the BEST CHARTER SCHOOL in ALAMANCE COUNTY!! This information will be published in the Times News on October 28th.

Report Cards:

As of now, report cards will be distributed from 9:00 A.M. until 4:00 P.M. on Friday, October 9th for students in Grades K-8 (unless an 8th grader is enrolled in a HS course) There is a possibility that there may be a delay in the High School first quarter report cards based on some final course calculations needed for Semester 1 block courses. We will let you know ASAP if there is a delay in HS report card distribution and if so what the new date will be for distribution. Thank you for your patience!

Midterms:

For any students in High School block courses this semester, many of your teachers are scheduling mid-terms that will be taking place between this week and next week. Please study for your mid-term and reach out to your teacher for assistance in completing this exam. (For year-long high school courses, your mid-terms will be scheduled at “normal” time which falls during the first two weeks in December)

Testing:

In case you missed it, a schedule of this year’s 1st “Check in’s” have been scheduled and an attachment is provided with more information.

Tutoring Schedule:

Our tutoring schedule has been completed! Our “Master Canvas Conferencing Schedule” will now be updated with these new dates/times available for tutoring from your child’s teacher(s) and will be posted on our school’s website once complete. You can locate that document here.

Face-to-Face Virtual Parent/Teacher Conferences:

Thank you to those of you that have scheduled a parent/teacher conference with your child’s teacher(s). This is a great opportunity to help your student stay on track during remote learning and get your questions or concerns answered about coursework expectations.

Academic Break:

Our next academic break will be October 12th– October 16th. During this week all CGS instruction and assignments are halted. If you are enrolled in an NCVPS course or ACC course, your instruction continues during this week.

Book Fair:

This is the LAST week for our school’s Fall bookfair! If you haven’t visited our school’s Bookfair, please do so soon! The virtual bookfair ends on Thursday, October 1st. The Scholastic Bookfair is a fantastic opportunity to get new and exciting books for all of your children at a discounted price! The Scholastic Bookfair is also very beneficial to CGS as they give 25% in rewards to CGS for purchases made during this bookfair week. This helps restock our school and classroom libraries with new material that our students and teachers can enjoy! Go ahead and grab some books for those on your holiday gift lists!!

No-internet USB Distribution:

Reminder that any students receiving USB flash drives due to no internet availability must come to campus on Monday to pick up your USB flash drive with your instruction/assignments for the week. USB flash drives must be returned by the following Monday in order to get credit for your coursework and receive your new flash drive of material for the next week.

Here’s a reminder of the documents available to provide questions, concerns, or comments during remote learning.
