Today we continue out Destination College series with a local university, the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. So let’s take a short trip down I-40 to learn more about the Spartans of UNCG.

UNCG is one of sixteen public universities that are part of the North Carolina university system. With over 125 programs of study ranging from interior architecture to kinesiology, UNCG appeals to a broad range of in-state, out-of-state, and international students.

Campus Life

The on-campus experience at UNCG is buzzing with more than 360 clubs and organizations to choose from. With this kind of variety, all students can find an opportunity to get involved on campus. UNC-G sponsors 17 Division I athletic teams in the Southern Conference. In 2019 the Spartans won 5 conference championships and competed in the NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament. The arts are a big part of Spartan life. UNCG is the largest comprehensive visual and performing arts school in North Carolina. Through the arts department, students have the opportunity to participate in more than 350 events per year.

Tours/Important Dates

Like most colleges and universities UNCG has been impacted by COVID-19. In order to keep everyone safe, the university has suspended all in-person campus tours. Even in the face of these challenges, UNCG has found a way to help prospective students learn more about their campus while staying safe, virtual tours. You can schedule a virtual tour with an admissions counselor online. Currently, tours are by appointment only on Monday and Wednesday at 4:00 PM and Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday at 12:00 PM.
