Samantha Roberts

This morning our Senior Spotlight shines on Samantha Roberts. Like many of our 2020 Graduates Samantha came to Clover Garden as a kindergarten student and has been a Grizzly ever since. During her high school career Samantha was very active all over CGS! She was a multi-sport athlete competing in softball and volleyball. She served as captain of the Varsity Softball Team during her sophomore and senior seasons. She was also captain of the Varsity Volleyball team in her junior year. Samantha also has the distinction of being a published poet through the American Library of Poetry. When not playing sports or writing Samantha was busy participating in BETA, Spanish Club, FCA (Fellowship of Christian Athletes), Jr. Civitan, DREAM Team, Sociedad Honoraria Hispanica, and Prom Committee. Samantha was also voted as a homecoming rep in her ninth, tenth, and eleventh-grade years.

After graduation Samantha, “…will be attending Appalachian State University and Major in Elementary Education.”

Like many of her peers when asked what she felt the Class of 2020 would be remembered for Samantha replied, “The Class that graduated through the Corona Virus.” We know that you and your class will be remembered for much more than that!

As Samantha reflected back over her years as Grizzly she had a hard time choosing one favorite memory. She stated, “I have enjoyed my time at Clover Garden from spending time with my friends, joking with teachers, hanging out with teammates, and being able to make new friends.” We are certainly glad that these things are what you will remember and treasure about your academic journey at CGS.

When asked who she would like to thank for their influence and help during her high school journey Samantha named, “My Mom and Dad, Mr.Weis, and Coach Moyer.”

Samantha as you head off to Boone and become a Mountaineer remember that your Clover Garden family is proud of you and your accomplishments thus far. All of your CGS teachers are behind you as you prepare for a career in education. Congratulations on your graduation!
