Ashley Carter is in our Senior Spotlight today! She is another student that has been a Grizzly since kindergarten. During her high school years, she was an active member of the Grizzly Chorus and Drama Department. As a freshman, she was nominated as a Homecoming Representative and as a senior, she participated in the PALs program.

As of now Ashley is undecided on her plan for the future. She is contemplating pursuing an English degree or entering the workforce. We are certain that whatever she chooses she will do great things!

When asked what she felt the Class of 2020 would be remembered for Ashley responded, “The class that was quarantined half the year!” Without a doubt, the quarantine will be remembered for years to come.

Thinking back over her years as a Grizzly, Ashley couldn’t pick just one memory as a favorite. In fact, she stated, “I’ve had many amazing memories from CGS so it’s hard to choose just one but some of my favorites are the ones I shared with my friends. I’ve had many laughs and I have made such amazing friends throughout my years at CGS. I will never forget the memories and laughs we all shared.”

Ashley had several people that she wanted to thank for their help and support during her education. She started off with Mrs. Clifton. “Mrs. Clifton was one of the many teachers that helped me on my academic journey. I’ve been a student of her’s since it feels like forever. She’s helped me a lot with my school work when I’ve been stressed. I loved all the memories/laughs Clifton and I have had and I’m truly going miss her the most!- I love you Mrs. Clifton P.S. don’t worry I won’t go to Arbys Lol!”

Next, Ashley had to shoutout two of her closest friends and CGS cohorts.

  • Sydney, We’ve Made It!” I Just want to thank you for putting up with me since 4th grade, I couldn’t ask for a better best friend/adopted sister but let’s be real we all know you’re like a sister to me. I wish you the best of luck in college I’m truly going to miss you but don’t worry we’re going to stay in touch. I love you best friend! P.S. you better stay out of trouble!
  • Elise, You’ve been one of my day one friends, I just want to thank you for always sticking by me throughout the years and making me laugh when I was feeling down or needed a good laugh. I’ll never forget the laughs/memories/inside jokes we’ve had in Chorus throughout the years. I wish you the best of luck in college and on your next journey!”

Ashley couldn’t forget to give a special message to her family, “Mom and Dad thank you for always believing in me and putting up with me. I couldn’t ask for better parents. Brandy, I know we’ve had our fights but I couldn’t ask for a better older sister! Grandpa, thank you for all you do for me. I really appreciate it. Thank you for always bringing me food and for buying my first car. Words can’t describe how thankful I am to have such a crazy/amazing family! I love you all with all my heart!

Ashley as you start this new chapter of your life, remember all those great memories and we can’t wait to see you create new ones. Congratulations!
