During the month of October the Leaders of Tomorrow club sponsored Socktober. This event is a national project that unites clubs, civic organizations, schools and individuals across the country to help support homeless shelters.  The most requested item by homeless shelters is socks.  With the coming cold weather our students worked hard to collect over 3,000 pairs of socks.

On Tuesday Ms. Sabrina Corbett and Ms. Emily Stevens from Allied Churches of Alamance County visited CGS.  Allied Churches of Alamance County is free a local homeless shelter open to all who are hungry, without restriction. The ACAC programs work to help prevent homelessness for community members who are forced to choose between paying their bills and feeding themselves or their families.  They were very appreciative of all the donations and impressed with the empathy, commitment, and kindness shown by our students.

Stay tuned for the next Leaders of Tomorrow project!
